“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…” The WWE video leads us into the show.

The show opens with a highlight video showcasing last week’s main event featuring Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio teaming up to take on Dolph Ziggler and Chris Jericho. CM Punk was ringside and Hardy threw Jericho toward his way – intentionally we do not know. CM Punk answered by throwing Jericho into Hardy, getting Hardy and Mysterio disqualified. Mysterio was then attacked by Ziggler and Jericho locked Hardy in the Walls of Jericho while CM Punk watched on and did nothing.

The Smackdown video plays and we’re brought into the arena with a great pyro display. Jim Ross and Todd Grisham welcome us to the show and announce our Main Event will be Champion versus Champion as Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio will take on World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.

Jeff Hardy’s music and the Charismatic Enigma is making his way to the ring for a match. Hardy gets a tremendous reaction from the crowd. Hardy grabs a microphone and is amazed by the reception. Hardy says last week CM Punk said he would wind up as a statistic. Punk also said he despises the example he’s set for us, the WWE Universe. Hardy said he’ll despise it more when he becomes World Heavyweight Champion. Hardy says Punk comes out on his soapbox and preaches his Straightedge lifestyle, trying to shove it down everyone’s throats, and he’s sick of it. Hardy says after Night of Champions the preaching will be over because the WWE Universe will be living in the moment with him.

As for his opponent Chris Jericho is concerned, he’s probably more worried about finding a partner for this Sunday but tonight he should be more worried about him. Hardy says he hasn’t forgotten about what Jericho did to him last week. Tonight it’s time for Jericho’s walls to come tumbling down. Hardy then thanks Richmond, Virginia.

Chris Jericho’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring.

Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho

The match begins and they circle the ring. Hardy ducks a lock up attempt and takes Jericho down with a waist lock takeover. Hardy grounds and pounds Jericho until he desperately rolls out of the ring. Hardy follows and sends Jericho into the barricade. Hardy throws him into it again and throws him back in the ring. Hardy clubs Jericho and stomps him down in the corner. Jericho answers with a kick and a forearm. Jericho has a whip reversed on him and Hardy hits him with a back elbow. Jericho reverses a whip now into the corner but Hardy counters with a slingshot. Jericho catches him on his shoulders so Hardy hits him with a head-scissors takeover. Hardy clotheslines Jericho out of the ring.

Hardy goes for a slingshot baseball slide but Jericho catches his legs and pulls him out of the ring! Hardy lands with a sickening thump on his back! That’s a candidate for Bump of the Night! We’ll take a commercial here.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Jericho drop Hardy with a neckbreaker. Jericho now locks him in a grounded arm trap chin lock. Jericho holds it in for a bit until Hardy gets up at the will of the fans. Hardy elbows out, goes into the ropes, ducks a clothesline, and drops Jericho with a cross-body block for a two count. Jericho gets up and drops Hardy with a step-up enzuigiri for a two count. Jericho doesn’t agree with the referee’s count but it stands.

Jericho stomps Hardy and drops him with a big right hand. Jericho taunts the crowd, saying that Hardy is “nothing.” Jericho steps on Hardy’s chest and kicks him a few times arrogantly. Hardy soon gets up and punches back. Hardy whips Jericho into the corner and charges but Jericho sidesteps him. Jericho goes to the second rope and comes off with a Bret “Hitman” Hart style elbow drop. Jericho covers and puts his feet on the ropes but the referee catches Jericho at the count of two. Jericho chokes Hardy on the second rope until the referee makes him get off. Jericho then catapults him neck first into the second rope in a guillotine. This gets Jericho a near fall. Jericho continues hammering away at Hardy. The crowd is willing him on but is getting nothing. Jericho gets a chin lock on but Hardy is able to fight up and elbow out. Jericho cuts him off with a kick to the midsection. Jericho goes into the ropes and Hardy finally takes him down with a flying neckbreaker drop.

Hardy comes back with a pair of running forearms. Jericho angrily goes into the ropes and Hardy hits him with an inverted atomic drop. Hardy hits the double leg drop to the midsection followed by a low dropkick to the face for a near fall. Hardy hits a beautiful sit-out inverted suplex and goes to the top rope. Hardy comes off with the Swanton Bomb but Jericho rolls out of the way! Jericho quickly goes into the ropes and hits the Lionsault for a near fall!

Jericho can’t believe it. Jericho attempts to lock Hardy in the Walls of Jericho but Hardy powers him off. Jericho tries it again but Hardy counters with an inside cradle for a near fall. Jericho blocks a kick so Hardy counters with his flipping mule kick. Jericho is sitting in the corner so Hardy goes for his slingshot dropkick but Jericho catches his legs and locks Hardy in the Walls of Jericho! Jericho has it locked on tight and Hardy is in pain until he finally reaches the ropes! Jericho stomps at Hardy and goes for the Walls of Jericho again. Hardy refuses to allow that to happen, hitting Jericho with punches, so Jericho catapults him into the corner but Hardy lands on the second rope and climbs up to hit a BEAUTIFUL Whisper in the Wind! Hardy covers for a near fall!

Hardy is getting the crowd into it and goes for a Twist of Fate but Jericho turns him and hits the Codebreaker! The force sends Hardy out of the ring, unbeknownst to Jericho, who looks around for Hardy looking to make the cover. This was some good comedy. Jericho goes outside but Hardy is knocked out. Jericho lifts the dead weight and puts him in the ring for a near fall!

Jericho is frustrated and begins kicking Hardy in the ribs. Jericho goes into the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Hardy counters with a Twist of Fate! Hardy takes his shirt off and goes to the top rope. Jericho gets up and sweeps out Hardy’s feet. Jericho goes for a superplex but Hardy punches and head-butts him off. Hardy hits a nice Swanton Bomb for the big win!! This was a fantastic match!!

Backstage Michelle McCool is getting make-up put on her. McCool gloats about herself and says she doesn’t think people understand how great she is. She’s the first ever Diva’s Champion and is the first Diva to hold both the Diva’s Championship and the Women’s Championship. McCool says that pretty much makes her the best WWE Diva in history. McCool says the make-up lady probably remembers the Fabulous Moolah, Sensational Sherri, Mae Young, Lita, Trish Stratus, and none of them compare to her.

Melina walks up and the make-up lady leaves. Melina tells her not to leave because McCool needs more work done. Melina tells her not to be mad and that she’s there to congratulate her on being the biggest phony in WWE history. Melina says she invoked her rematch clause and tells McCool at Night of Champions the WWE Women’s title will be back around her waist. Melina tells her to shine the title up because it’s coming home where it belongs. Melina says McCool needs more make-up and tosses a bunch of foundation all over her face. McCool spits some out. That must taste nasty. Melina says she also does hair and McCool simply walks away.

Still to come tonight is our Main Event. CM Punk takes on Rey Mysterio in a Champion vs. Champion match.

We get a shot of the arena from the outside. Richmond has a really nice stadium.

We now take a look at a video package of John Morrison. They show a bunch of great highlights, including a Shooting Star Press and a 450 Splash to the outside. How about the time he did that moonsault off the top rope with a ladder at WrestleMania 24? This guy is tremendous.

The Great Khali vs. Mike Knox

Mike Knox is returning to the ring after being away for about two months or so.

The match begins and they lock up. Khali quickly pushes Knox away into the ropes. Knox is a big guy but he looks small next to Khali. Knox gets himself pumped up and hits some kicks and punches. Khali quickly pushes him into the ropes and takes him down with a clothesline. Khali pushes Knox into the corner and kicks and back elbows him. Khali then smashes his chest with a huge chop.

All of a sudden Kane’s pyro explodes in a moment that even startled me. It was pretty hilarious seeing everyone in the arena jump. Meanwhile this match is still going on. Knox takes advantage of the distraction by clubbing and kicking Khali. Knox pounds Khali in the corner until the referee makes him back away. Knox hammers Khali down to one knee until Khali grabs him by the beard. Khali pushes him down and then takes him down with a back elbow. Khali then lays him out with a big boot and pumps up. Khali hits a clothesline and then a Brain Chop. Khali looks at Kane, who looks upset, and then drops Knox with the Punjabi Plunge for the win in this squash match.

Kane begins approaching the ring and Khali is ready for him. Kane gets on the apron and teases getting in the ring but he instead gets off the apron and walks to the back.

Tonight CM Punk will be issuing a challenge to the WWE Universe. What does he have to say?

It’s time for another edition of Word Up. Today’s word is G-O-A-T, which is an acronym for the greatest of all time. I’m not from the Cryme Tyme Institution of Higher Hooducation so can any real thugs tell me if this is even a real term that is used or is it just made up? They now start plugging the G-O-A-Ts of tag team wrestling with the Allied Powers DVD. The Hart Dynasty walks up and asks if anyone in their family is on the DVD. All of a sudden Jesse interrupts. Jesse says he comes from where the Fabulous Freebirds come from – Badstreet, USA! Jesse’s father is Terry Gordy from the Freebirds. Jesse insults the Hart Dynasty by making fun of Canada and snowball fights. Natalya says they’ll see them in the ring tonight and Jesse better pray they don’t get their hands on him. Cryme Tyme concludes the segment and leave Jesse high and dry.

Dolph Ziggler is accompanied to the ring by Maria, his apparent girlfriend now. She has no taste in men apparently. Ziggler says we all know him as “Dolph Ziggler.” Ziggler says he wants to give us a heads up because he’s not big on introductions (that’s irony because he really is!) but after Sunday we’ll know him as “Dolph Ziggler, Intercontinental Champion.” He’ll be in action after the break.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Finlay

They circle the ring before locking up. Finlay pushes Ziggler into the corner and gives a clean break. Ziggler gets a waist lock but Finlay quickly breaks the hold with an arm wrench and a takedown. Finlay covers for a no count. Ziggler gets up and they lock up again. Finlay gets a quick headlock so Ziggler whips him off and gets a nasty shoulder block for his efforts. Finlay sends Ziggler into corner and charges but Ziggler sidesteps him and Finlay flies shoulder first into the ring post.

Ziggler sends Finlay into the ring post again and Finlay falls to the outside. Ziggler throws Finlay’s shoulder against the ring apron and puts him back in the ring. Ziggler hammers away at the injured shoulder and locks on an arm bar. Finlay arm drags him off but is quickly clotheslined down for a one count. Ziggler kicks him in the shoulder a bit before Finlay slaps him in the face. Ziggler continues the assault before locking on a standing arm bar. Finlay punches out with some nasty punches until Ziggler kicks him in the midsection and drops him with a dropkick for a one count.

Ziggler hits a crossface and wraps Finlay’s arm around the top rope. Ziggler goes on the apron and Finlay hammers him with right hands and brings him in the ring the hard way. Finlay takes him down with a trifecta of clotheslines and hits a cannonball to the midsection for a two count. Finlay whips Ziggler to the corner and runs into a kick. Finlay rebounds with a shoulder thrust to the midsection. Finlay attempts a Celtic Cross but Ziggler holds on the ropes so Finlay shoots him to the apron, allowing Ziggler to nail him with a right hand. Ziggler tries to pull Finlay out of the ring but Finlay kicks him off into the announcer’s table, starting JR and Todd Grisham.

Finlay comes out and smashes his face off the table before clotheslining him down. Maria comes over to check on Ziggler. Finlay goes to get back in the ring but Ziggler pops up and hits his Jumping Russian Leg Sweep on the outside! That’s a nasty move to do on the outside of the ring! Ziggler gets back in the ring and takes the count-out!

Maria is in the ring checking on Dolph Ziggler. They go up the ramp and she raises his hand. No word on if she’s a heel.

Backstage Chris Jericho, with his shoulder taped with ice, is talking with Kane. We don’t hear what they’re saying, though.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk makes his way to the ring to a not so warm reception. Punk says he’s come out here to challenge the WWE Universe to see things his way and to learn how to just say “no.” The people who cheer for Jeff Hardy are just slaves to the vices associated with his “living in the moment.” Punk says he feels bad for us, walking around almost blind, wearing our prescriptions proudly on our sleeves, like a badge of honor. Punk says the doctor told us to take one every four hours. Aside from himself there isn’t a person in the arena who hasn’t abused prescription medication or taken a recreational drug.

Punk says he knows its hard being straightedge and living that life. It’s tough being him but none of us realize how much more difficult it is living the life we all live. Punk says he’s positive no one takes into account the long term effects of alcohol on the liver. Punk says this is nothing to cheer that we drink because it’s fun. They pipe in fake cheers here. Punk says it’s not fun when it spirals and we drink to feel normal. Then there are the smokers. Punk says he doesn’t know what’s more disgusting – a smoker polluting his or her lungs with over 4,000 foreign chemicals, or having to listen to those smokers saying they can quit whenever they want to. Punk says he knows it’s tough to quit and it takes a strong person to do so, but it takes an even smarter person to not do it in the first place.

The crowd is chanting for Jeff Hardy. Punk says he doesn’t want to be the bearer of bad news but the facts are pretty slim that any of the people in the arena will get the monkey off their back. They’ll never be able to pry the cigarette from their lips, or find the self control to pour the drink from the glass, or the self respect to take the pill out of the mouth. Punk says it starts and can’t happen without learning to say “no” to temptation and that’s why he’s out here – to challenge us before it’s too late. Punk tells us to say no to our vices, temptations, and to control ourselves.

Jeff Hardy’s music hits and he makes his way out to the ring. Hardy gets in the ring and says Punk has a lot of nerve. Hardy says Punk thinks he’s so right but what he doesn’t know about people could fill a book. Hardy says he’s so stuck on himself it’s like he’s forgotten what it’s like to be human. Hardy says people make mistakes and those people can change. Punk says the people say they can change – and then stops, saying he’s not going to enable him. In fact, Punk doesn’t want to be in the same ring as him. Punk’s going to do what he always does, and what Hardy should have done a long time ago – he’s going to just say no. Punk leaves the ring as Hardy just looks on like he can’t believe this guy. Hardy shakes his head as we go to commercial.

The Smack of the Week is Cryme Tyme and Eve defeating the Hart Dynasty.

Eve Torres vs. Natalya

Justin King, the rookie referee, is in control. They lock up and Eve quickly gets a headlock. Natalya tries to whip her off but Eve hangs on. Natalya takes her down by the hair. They lock up and Natalya powers her into the ropes. Natalya pushes her and Eve gets a headlock and a takeover on her. Natalya powers up and elbows out. Natalya sends her into the corner and charges into a knee. Eve comes off the second rope but Natalya catches her and hits a British Bulldog-type powerslam for a near fall.

Natalya grounds and pounds her before stepping on her. Natalya now locks on a beautiful Mexican surfboard stretch! Natalya almost gets pinned so she brings her down and jumps on Eve while still having the submission locked on. That was the greatest thing I’ve seen in a Diva’s match in some time. Natalya goes for a leg drop but Eve avoids it. Eve kicks her in the midsection and clotheslines her down. Eve hits a dropkick but has a whip into the ropes reversed on her. Natalya lowers her head and Eve kicks her in the face. Natalya then drops her with that spinning clothesline but Eve rolls to the ropes. Natalya picks her up by the hair and puts her on the top rope. Natalya goes for a super back suplex but Eve hammers her off. Eve hits a moonsault for the win. Natalya is too good to be jobbed out like that.

Backstage the Great Khali and Ranjin Singh are talking. Chris Jericho walks up and says he is seriously considering Khali to be his partner. Khali speaks and Singh translates. Singh says Khali says it would be an honor of the highest esteem to be a champion of any kind, let alone one-half of the Unified Tag Team Champions. Only one small thing – he wouldn’t want his partner to be Chris Jericho.

R-Truth will be in action next.

Charles Robinson, my favorite referee, has this one. They circle the ring and R-Truth does a dance. Haas pushes him down hard. R-Truth gets up and hits a solid right hand, taking him down. Haas goes for a kick but R-Truth catches it. Haas goes for a clothesline but R-Truth splits under that and hits a jumping back heel kick for a near fall. Haas knees him in the midsection and sends him into the ropes. R-Truth slingshots over him and does a cartwheel, injuring his knee. Haas takes advantage with a kick to the kneecap.

Haas drags him to the corner and exits the ring, smashing R-Truth’s leg off the ring post. R-Truth kicks him away but can’t get anything going. Haas kicks him in the back of the knee and rolls up R-Truth’s pant leg. Haas targets the knee and stomps on it. R-Truth hobbles right into a right hand for a two count. Haas kicks him in the knee and locks on an inverted single leg crab. They pipe in fake audience claps and R-Truth gets to the ropes. Haas kicks him in the knee until R-Truth kicks him off. Haas walks right into a right hand to the midsection and some strikes that stun him.

R-Truth hits a back elbow and a back body drop. R-Truth sends Haas into the ropes and hits a hip toss for a two count. R-Truth asks the crowd “What’s up” and gets kicked in the knee. That’s what’s up. Haas brings him face first into the turnbuckle and blocks a kick. Haas then clubs him in the knee. Haas charges and R-Truth sidesteps him. Haas crashes chest first into the turnbuckle. R-Truth then hits the Scissors Kick and pins him for the win.

Rey Mysterio comes out with a mask designed by a kid who won a contest. Mysterio gave him the mask at ringside. That was a touching moment.

The match begins and they lock up. CM Punk quickly gets a hammerlock on and Mysterio hits a high snapmare to get out of it. They circle the ring and go for a test of strength but Punk kicks him down. Punk now locks on a beautiful leg lock. Mysterio kicks him in the face and gets out of it. Mysterio goes for a single leg crab but Punk pulls him down. Punk gets a front face lock on but Mysterio gets out and they do the test of strength. Punk goes for a back heel trip but Mysterio holds on, jumps onto Punk’s shoulders, and rolls him up for a one count. Punk gets a single leg for a quick one count as well. They tussle around before getting up and going face to face.

Both men push one another and trade kicks. Punk then throws Mysterio shoulder first into the ring post. Punk covers for a two count. Punk locks a headlock on now. Mysterio gets up, elbows him off, and sends him into the ropes, only to get a shoulder block. Punk goes into the ropes, over and under Mysterio, and cuts Mysterio off with a kick to the midsection. Punk hits a wrist lock and Mysterio gets to the ropes, back flips out, and punches Punk. Mysterio grabs the arm and climbs up the ropes for a super arm drag but Punk pushes him off the top rope to the outside! Mysterio’s arm hit the top rope so it could possibly be injured. Mysterio gets up and Punk baseball slides him down. It’s time for a break.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Mysterio locked in an arm bar. Punk holds it in for a bit until Mysterio kicks him off. Mysterio goes into the ropes but Punk catches him and powers him to the corner. Punk covers for a near fall. Punk hits a snapmare and kicks him in the back before dropping a leg for a two count. Punk turns Mysterio onto his stomach and gets a hammerlock on. Mysterio gets up and elbows out. Mysterio goes into the ropes and Punk hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a near fall.

Punk locks on a grounded key lock. Punk holds it in for a bit until Mysterio punches him off. Punk and Mysterio trade kicks, with Punk coming out on top. Punk head-butts Mysterio down and stomps on his injured arm. Punk hits a short-arm shoulder block for a near fall. Punk locks the key lock back on. Mysterio fights up and punches out only to be cut off by a knee to the midsection. Punk now gets Mysterio up into a Gory Submission Stretch! That’s a great move and Punk has it locked on perfectly. Mysterio kicks out and arm drags him down. Punk charges into a drop toe hold into the corner.

Both men are down while Dolph Ziggler makes his way down to the ring for a closer look at his opponent. Mysterio and Punk trade more kicks with Mysterio coming out the better. Punk pushes Mysterio into the ropes but Mysterio ducks the clothesline and hits a springboard cross-body for a two count. Mysterio goes into the ropes but Punk catches him with a kick. Punk goes into the ropes and Mysterio drops him with a picture perfect dropkick for a two count. Mysterio wrenches the arm and kicks him in the midsection. A whip to the corner is reversed on Mysterio but Mysterio catches a charging Punk with a boot in the face. Mysterio hits a head-scissors into position for the 619. Mysterio goes for it but Punk back drops him to the apron.

Mysterio shoulders him in the midsection and hits his springboard senton. Ziggler is on the apron so Mysterio punches him off and turns right into a back heel kick from Punk, giving Punk a near fall! Punk goes for a suplex but Mysterio lands on his feet. Punk gets behind him and pushes him into the corner, hitting him with a high knee. Punk goes for the bulldog but Mysterio pushes him into position and goes for the 619 but Punk cuts him off with a head-butt to the midsection. Punk throws him out of the ring but Mysterio rolls through the impact.

Punk doesn’t realize Mysterio is on the apron until he turns and sees Mysterio coming off the top rope. Punk catches him in position for the GTS but Mysterio twists it into a wheelbarrow bulldog, putting Punk in position. Mysterio hits the 619 and the springboard body splash! Mysterio has a two and a half count when Dolph Ziggler attacks him, causing a disqualification!

Dolph Ziggler continues the assault and sends him into the ropes but Mysterio holds on. Ziggler charges into a drop toe hold, putting him in position. Mysterio goes for the 619 but Punk hits him from behind! Ziggler now waits for Mysterio to get up and hits his Jumping Russian Leg Sweep! Ziggler hits it again and now Jeff Hardy runs down, bumping Punk on the way, to make the save! Hardy forearms him down and throws him out of the ring! Hardy takes his shirt off and CM Punk runs in and drops him with the GTS! The crowd is booing Punk as the show ends!

The opening video package plays and fireworks go off as JR and Todd Grisham introduces everyone to another exciting edition of Friday Night SmackDown! JR hypes our main event for the evening – it will be Rey Mysterio & Jeff Hardy taking on the team of Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler. Grisham adds that also later on tonight, just days after undergoing career-threatening Achilles tendon reconstruction, we will see an exclusive interview with the Rated R Superstar, Edge.

“No More Words” hits and out comes the charismatic enigma, Jeff Hardy, dressed up in street clothes. Jeff grabs a microphone.

“Last week CM Punk came on this show and made a shocking revelation,” Jeff says. He then shows everyone a footage from last week when Punk ran down Jeff Hardy’s background, including the part where Punk claimed that Jeff Hardy had a zero percent chance of winning the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions. “See Punk you just don’t get it, you keep bringing up my mistakes like I’m trying to hide behind something, but let me straighten something out. Everybody makes mistakes, I’ve made mistakes…I’ve been suspended twice, I admit that. But I haven’t failed a test in over a year and I have never been to rehab, I’ve always healed myself, and at Night of Champions, I will beat CM Punk!”

Punk’s music hits and out comes the World Heavyweight Champion. He too grabs a microphone.

Punk apologizes that things have come to this, people actually cheering that Jeff hasn’t failed a drug test in over a year. “This is not an accomplishment,” Punk adds and then pauses. “Maybe it’s an accomplishment to you Jeff so congratulations, you didn’t fail a drug test in 365 days, we can start writing your Hall of Fame speech right now.”

Jeff says that he is tired of hearing the same thing week after week after week.

Punk responds by saying that it’s the same thing week after week after week because he never listens. “And those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. You ever hear of that school? Oh, probably not, because you were a screw then too. How many exams did you fail? How many classes did you skip? How many times were you expelled?”

Jeff cut Punk off and said Punk is not a wrestler, he is Jeff’s guidance counselor.

Punk responds by saying that he is not Jeff’s counselor, but maybe Jeff should start wishing that he was, because he could’ve set Jeff straight. “You wouldn’t be in this path that your on. Jeff just look at yourself. You’re a joke. You come out here and admit that you’ve failed two drug tests and then you brag about never having gone to rehab? Who do you think you are?”

Jeff says that he knows that he is the next World Heavyweight Champion.

Punk calls Jeff a dreamer. “A year from now, I will still be champion. What about you? Your going to fall back into the same vicious cycle, you’ll lose to me and fall back into your vices, repeat so on so forth.”

Jeff sarcastically apologizes for not being perfect like Punk.

Punk responds by saying that maybe he should try to be perfect because all of the little kids wearing Jeff Hardy T-Shirts are going to have to watch their hero be just another statistic.

At this point, Jeff has had enough. He clotheslines Punk out of the ring.

Punk, who still has a microphone, says that he will be the bigger man tonight by not fighting because he has a match next. “But nothing is going to stop me from tearing you apart at Night of Champions!”

The two stare each other down as we cut to break…

WWE Slam of the Week: Last Month John Morrison defeated CM Punk. Punk then hit the GTS on Morrison following the match.

Back, CM Punk is in the ring, ready for his match.

The Friday Night Delight, John Morrison, then makes his way down to the ring.


Match 1: CM Punk v. John Morrison

Following an early lockup, Morrison applies a wristlock, but Punk manages to back Morrison into the corner to break the hold. The two stare at each other and Morrison shoves Punk back. Punk retaliates with a headlock takedown, but Morrison reverses his way out of the hold and applies a headlock of his own. After another series of reversals, Punk catches Morrison with an elbow to the face. Moments later, Punk applies a modified tarantula on the ropes followed by a flying crossbody. As both men make it back to their feet, Morrison quickly strikes Punk with a dropkick. Morrison then judo flips Punk and proceeds to clothesline Punk out of the ring. Morrison tries for a dropkick, but Punk grabs Morrison’s leg and slams him down onto the floor rather roughly.

-Commercial-

Back, Punk is in control as he has a bodyscissors applied. Not long after, Morrison punches Punk in the face to break out of the hold. As Punk makes it back to his feet, Morrison charges at him, but Punk flips Morrison onto the mat. Punk then connects with a belly to belly suplex on Morrison and gets a 2 count. Punk then decides for another bodyscissors and after some time, Morrison catches Punk with an elbow to the face. Both men then are slowly to make it back to their feet. Morrison quickly clotheslines Punk and connects with a jumping back kick to the face. Morrison then strikes Punk in the face with his knee, but gets a 2 count. At this point, Morrison places Punk on the top ropes and tries for a hurricanrana, but as both men come down, Punk reverses it into a sunset flip and gets a 2 count as Morrison slips out of the near-fall. As Morrison tries to get up, Punk grabs Morrison and connects with a double under-hook backbreaker. Punk covers, 1…2…No! Morrison kicks out. Shortly thereafter, the two exchange a few kicks before eventually taking each other down with a double clothesline. The referee starts his 10 count, but at 6, Punk charges at Morrison, who is in the corner, in hopes of the knee lift, but Morrison dodges it and connects with his springboard kick to the face. After another 2 count, Morrison attempts Starship Pain, but Punk gets up and places Morrison on top of his shoulders for GTS. Morrison hits Punk with an elbow and tries for a sunset flip, but Punk reverses it into a near fall of his own. Moments later, Morrison attempts to leap over Punk, but Punk throws Morrison overboard. Punk then quickly cradles Morrison up, but Morrison manages to keep Punk’s shoulders onto the mat for the 3 count.

Post-Match: Punk cannot believe what happened. Morrison offers a handshake, but Punk refuses and rolls out of the ring and heads back up the ramp with his title in hand. We then get replays of the match as Morrison celebrates his victory.

Layla, who is dressed up in as a Miami Heat Cheerleader, makes her way down to the ring. JR mentions that she was a former cheerleader for the team. Layla says that since she’s back in the “M-I-A,” she would like to dance.

Layla dances until Rick Ortiz’s music hits. Ortiz makes his way down to the ring and throws some of his towels into the audience.

Ortiz insults the Miami Heat and says that these people need some inspiration. Ortiz tells the people to Rally Up and then offers Layla a towel. Layla throws it to the ground and walks back up the ramp.

It’s now Cryme Times Word Up segment. Today’s word is “Championized,” meaning to engross oneself at a champion level, whereas a person becomes a champion in all aspects. They introduce NFC Champion, from the Arizona Cardinals, Antrel Rolle. Rolle introduces himself to Cryme Time and Layla when Jesse walks in. Jesse gets into a brief argument with Rolle until Cryme Time puts Jesse into a mailing basket and sends him off until he crashes into a wall.

Up Next: R-Truth vs. Kane

Back from commercial, Kane made his ring entrance. A video showed the Khali/Kane incident from last week. R-Truth made his lame ass entrance.

Match # 2 : Kane vs  R-Truth

Kane started out in control. He worked the monster move set. In a terrible looking set of moves, Kane tossed Truth over the top. I think he was supposed to land on the apron, but he fell. Then Kane tried to kick him over the top rope, even though he wasn’t really there, and got tied up. Truth hit a heel kick to send Kane to the floor. Kane looked like he wanted to skin the cat for a second, but he let go. Truth hit a dropkick through the ropes and both men recovered into commercial.

-Commercial-

Back at 5:38, Truth had a headlock on, but Kane hit a belly to back suplex. Truth spilt ducked a clothesline and hit a heel kick that Kane no sold. Kane caught R-Truth and hit a sidewalk slam for two. Kane hit a hard whip to the corner for two and locked in a lying bearhug. Kane rolled him to the floor and Truth reversed a lift into a clothesline that caused Kane to hit the post. Truth went to attack, but Kane regained control.

Kane whipped Truth to the corner and locked in a standing bearhug. Truth slid out and Kane lifted him a la a Punjabi Plunge, but Truth pushed away and hit a dropkick. Truth worked offense and hit a swinging DDT for two. Truth went to the top and Kane hit a big boot when he came off for the win. Holy crap that looked like it hurt.

Post match Khali and Ranjin Singh came out. Kane called him into the ring. Khali walked to the ring. Kane turned around and Truth hit a missile dropkick. Khali climbed in the ring and Kane fled through the crowd. Khali and Ranjin Singh celebrated in the ring…The announce team hyped the main event and the Edge interview.

The Hart Dynasty made their ring entrance.

Back from commercial, Cryme Tyme and Eve made their ring entrance. A video showed Cyme Tyme beating the Harts last night on Superstars…

Match # 3.The Hart Dynasty vs Cryme Tyme and Eve Torres

The ladies started. Natalya scored a takedown and Eve scored an elbow. Natalya tagged in Kidd and Shad came in. He destroyed Kidd and tagged in JTG. He slammed JTG on Kidd in the corner and JTG covered for two. Kidd tied up JTG in the ropes and tagged in Smith. Smith hit a slam and tagged in Kidd. They hit a double gutbuster for two and Kidd locked in a sitting abdominal stretch. JTG hit a hip toss to escape and tagged in Eve.

Natalya caught Eve when she jumped and hit a slam. Eve took control out of nowhere and hit a cartwheel moonsault. Smith came in to break up the pin attempt and Cryme Tyme cleaned house. Eve was distracted by all this and Natalya hit a hangman hotshot followed by a twisting clothesline for the win


Backstage, Ziggler was shown doing pushups. Maria walked up and kissed his arm and told him to be careful…The announce team hyped the Edge interview for next.

Back from commercial, Edge was on for his interview via satellite. They asked him about his physical and mental health. Edge said he had always worked to overcome injuries, but this one could be career ending. He said he learned that an Achilles tear is the most difficult injury to recover from. He said he was going to do everything he could to come back. They asked him about Jericho’s comments. Edge started to speak and Jericho’s music hit.

He came to the ring and Jericho called him pathetic. Jericho crushed him and called him out for not being there to defend the titles. Jericho said Edge’s titles came from politicking and being in the right place at the right time. Jericho said all of his titles had been earned. He said the only thing impressive about Edge is his injury list. He called him frail and weak. Jericho pointed out he had never been injured. Jericho continued to trash Edge and put himself over.

Edge’s tape started early and he told Jericho that he didn’t need anyone, especially Jericho, to come out there and punk him. He said he would use that as motivation. Edge said if he came back…no when he came back, he would prove Jericho and everyone else wrong.

Back from commercial, Jericho was in the ring and Dolpsh Ziggler made his entrance. A video showed the end of the Jericho/Mysterio match last week. Jeff made his entrance next, followed by Rey. Before the ref could ring the bell, CM Punk’s music hit and he came to sit in on commentary…

Match # 4 . Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler vs Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio

Hardy and Jericho started out. Jericho won the shoulder tackle challenge, but Jeff hit a drop kick and worked on Jericho. He hit his mule kick for two. Jericho tossed Hardy over the top, but he landed on the apron. Jericho hit his springboard dropkick to send Jeff to the floor. Rey checked on Hardy who recovered into the break.

-Commercial-

Back at 5:02, Jericho and Ziggler double teamed Jeff. Ziggler covered for two and hit a big elbow before locking in a reverse chin lock. Punk didn’t want to answer questions from the announce team, he said he was scouting. Jericho tagged back in and hit a weird looking clothesline to Hardy. He followed with a fist drop for two. Hardy escaped a lift and hit a clothesline. He got the hot tag to Mysterio.

Mysterio worked his fast offense on Jericho. He hit a hurricanranna and took out Ziggler with a punch. Jericho hit a sunset flip, but Rey rolled through and popped up to kick Jericho in the face for two. Rey hit a hurricanranna and set Jericho up for 619. Ziggler got a blind tag. Rey hit 619, but when he went for the West Coast Pop, Ziggler pulled him off to the floor. Rey hit the retaining wall. Ziggler got him in the ring and covered for two. He locked in a headlock.

Rey fought out, but Ziggler whipped him face first into the corner for two. He whipped Rey again, but Rey kicked up and hurricanrannaed (is that a word?) Ziggler into the post. Double hot tags and Jeff worked on Jericho. Jericho tried for a bulldog, but Jeff escaped and hit a Whisper in the Wind. He tried for a hurricanranna, but Jericho tried to reverse for Walls of Jericho. Hardy escaped and hit the Twist of Fate followed by the Swanton Bomb. Ziggler broke the count.

Mysterio dropkicked Ziggler to the floor. All four men went to the floor. Hardy tossed Jericho at Punk who moved. Hardy turned his back and Punk tossed Jericho into Hardy who hit the steps, causing the ref to call for the bell. Rey confronted Punk, but Ziggler hit a dropkick and followed up with his finisher on the floor. Jericho put Hardy back in the ring and hit a Codebreaker. Jericho locked in Walls of Jericho and Punk just watched. Punk walked away and Jericho finally broke the hold. Hardy rolled around in the ring to end the show…

* Prior to this week's SmackDown, a promo was taped with Rey Mysterio & Dolph Ziggler. Rey talks about Ziggler's attack last week. Ziggler comes out and interrupts. Mysterio challenges him. Ziggler wants the match at Night of Champions for the Intercontinental Championship. Rey accepts. They brawl until finally Ziggler retreats. The crew prepares for SmackDown.

* SmackDown opens with Jeff Hardy coming to the ring to address CM Punk's comments he made last week. Hardy claims that he'll win at Night of Champions. CM Punk comes out and interrupts. He calls Jeff a joke and asks him how many test and classes he failed in school. Jeff attacks Punk after he claims all of Jeff's fans will become a statistic.

* John Morrison b. CM Punk
- Before the match a recap aired showing Punk's loss to Morrison last month. The match was pretty much back and forth throughout. Both men counter finishers. Morrison gets the win with the rollup. After the match, Punk refuses a friendly handshake.

* Layla comes out in a Miami Heat Jersey and dances for the local fans. She is interrupted by Ricky Ortiz who cuts an anti-heat promo. He gives Layla a towel and she drops it.

* Kane b. R-Truth
- Truth jumps off the top rope and catches a boot to the face. Kane win. After the match, Great Khali comes out. R-Truth hits the top rope dropkick. Kane flees through the crowd.

* The Hart Dynasty b. Cryme Tyme & Eve Torres in a Mixed Tag Team Match
- The Hart Dynasty gets the win when Natalya gets the pin on Eve.

* Edge is interviewed on the screen. He says he'll do everything to get back in the ring. Chris Jericho interrupts the interview and calls Edge pathetic. He says he'll find a new partner for Night of Champion and will continue to reign. Jericho then refers to Edge as injury prone. The crowd is behind Edge.

* Rey Mysterio & Jeff Hardy b. Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler via disqualification.
- CM Punk is out to commentate. Jeff tries to throw Jericho into Punk. Punk tosses Jericho to Jeff. The referee calls for the bell. Ziggler lays the referee out on the outside. Jeff gets the Codebreaker. Punk walks to the back as Jeff is in Wall of Jericho. Jericho & Ziggler raise their hands as they exit.

“If You Rock Like Me” hits as the opening montage plays welcoming everyone to another exciting edition of Friday Night SmackDown! JR then adds that for our main event, Chris Jericho will invoke his rematch clause to compete against Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship.

“No More Words” hits and out comes the charismatic enigma, Jeff Hardy. Jeff comes out wearing an eye patch and like always, receives a huge ovation. Jeff grabs a microphone.

Jeff shows everyone a footage of his eye “injury” from last week’s tag team main event claiming that he was in extreme pain. “But you know what hurt me the most? It’s that after the match, CM Punk never took the time to come find me and see if I was okay. It’s almost as if he thinks I’m making this whole eye injury up. Unlike CM Punk, I do not make up injuries. Unlike CM Punk, I do not kick referees in the back. AND, unlike CM Punk, I do not forfeit matches. So Punk, believe when I say, my eye injury is just as serious as yours!”

Jeff removes his eye patch and looks directly into the camera.

Kane’s pyro emerges and out comes the big red machine for our first match of the evening.

Match 1: Jeff Hardy v. Kane

Match starts off with both men exchanging a couple of punches until Jeff throws Kane out of the ring. Jeff proceeds to connect with a plancha, but moments after getting back in the ring, Kane catches Jeff with a throat thrust. Following a 2 count, Kane throws Jeff onto the ropes and kicks the charismatic enigma directly in the temple which knocks him onto the outside.

-Commercial-

Back, Kane is still in control as he strikes Jeff in the face with a low dropkick. Kane then applies what JR called a modified bear-hug. Not long after however, Jeff reverses this submission hold into a jaw breaker. Jeff then dropkicks Kane in the patella and gets a 2 count. As both men get back up, Kane suddenly lifts Jeff onto his shoulder and punishes him with a gut-buster. After yet another 2 count, Kane hurls Jeff into the steel post. With Jeff’s ribs against the steel post, Kane then baseball slide’s into Jeff, running the wind right out of Jeff’s body. Moments later, Kane sets up Jeff in the corner and punches him several times before connecting with a backbreaker. Kane then uses his legs to apply a body-scissors, but Jeff pounds Kane’s knee cap to break the hold. Jeff then mule kicks Kane and attempts to charge at the Big Red Machine, but Kane grabs Jeff and slams him down with a side walk slam. At this point, Kane goes up to the top rope, but Jeff cuts him off. With Kane down, Jeff dropkicks Kane in the corner. Kane starts to crawl on his knees and Jeff gives Kane a DDT. After a 2 count, Jeff goes up to the top rope for a double axe handle, but Kane grabs Jeff by the throat. As Kane lifts Jeff up for the chokeslam, Jeff slides away and runs up another turnbuckle and connects with Whisper in the Wind. 1…2…NO! Kane kicks out! Jeff signals for Twist of Fate and connects with it. Jeff then takes his shirt off and decides to go up for the Swanton Bomb. Just before Jeff leaps off the ropes, CM Punk’s music hits and he comes out onto the stage area. Jeff looks at him, but in the mean time, Kane recovers and grabs Jeff by the throat for a super-chokeslam off the top rope. Kane then pins Jeff for the win.

We return with Cryme Time’s Word Up segment. Eve comes in and says that today’s word is “Bromance,” meaning a close relationship or man-crush between two bros to such a point where they start to seem like a couple. They provide examples of Barney and Fred from the Flinstones as well as Zac Efron and Leonardo Dicaprio. But most importantly, they add The Hart Dynasty as examples of Bromance. Jesse then pops up out of nowhere and tries to act like a “G,” but ultimately is tricked by Eve and locked inside of a cage.

Further backstage, GM Theodore Long and John Morrison were talking about going karaoke sometimes. There was a loud thud from a closet nearby. Morrison then reminded Long about his challenge to the winner of CM Punk/Jeff Hardy at Night of Champions. Long said the idea is still under consideration and that Morrison should get ready for his match with Dolph Ziggler for later on tonight. GM Long left the room and Dolph Ziggler came out of the closet sweating. Morrison insulted him and left the room as well. Maria then came out of the closet and wished Ziggler luck before tapping Ziggler on his rear end.

Dolph Ziggler made his way down to the ring. Todd Grisham mentioned that Ziggler now has 3 consecutive victories.

The Friday Night Delight, John Morrison, made his way to a good ovation from the crowd.

Match 2: Dolph Ziggler v. John Morrison

Bell rings and Morrison quickly takes Ziggler off his feet with a headlock takedown. Ziggler manages to reach the ropes with his feet and the referee calls for Morrison to release the hold. Morrison heeds the referee’s order, but Ziggler gets back up and gets a cheap shot on Morrison. Ziggler then tries to build momentum, but Morrison catches him with a reverse back elbow shot that sends Ziggler to the outside. As Ziggler stands up, Morrison connects with what JR called a spinning plancha crossbody. Morrison then sends Ziggler back into the ring and attempts a springboard shot, but Ziggler quickly chopped the leg of Morrison. Following a 2 count, Ziggler connected on his signature multiple elbow drops. Ziggler then tries for a sleeper hold and just when Morrison tries to break free, Ziggler is successful in connecting with a back drop. After yet another 2 count, Ziggler rubs Morrison’s face into the mat before applying a full nelson hold. Morrison quickly drops down and strikes Ziggler with a pele kick. Morrison then starts to build momentum as he takes Ziggler down with a few clotheslines and eventually a running knee to the face. After a near fall, Morrison sends Ziggler to the corner and charges at him, but Ziggler dodges it and connects with a modified gordbuster. 1…2…NO! Morrison kicks out. Ziggler then Irish Whips Morrison to the corner and charges at him, but Morrison flees to the outside and kicks Ziggler in his abdominal area. Morrison quickly climbs the turnbuckle and strikes Ziggler with a missile dropkick. As Ziggler slowly makes it back to his feet, Morrison charges at him, but Ziggler grabs him in position for a sidewalk slam, but Morrison spins his way out of the maneuver and in position for a DDT, but Ziggler somehow manages to sneak behind Morrison, grab the tights and roll up Morrison for the win.

Post-Match: Ziggler quickly escapes onto the outside and celebrates his win up the ramp as Morrion tries to explain to the referee that Ziggler had the tights.

The lovely Melina & Eve Torres made their ways down to the ring.

Their opponents are Layla and the current WWE Women’s Champion, Michelle McCool.

Match 3: Melina & Eve Torres v. Michelle McCool & Layla

Eve and Layla start things out. To start things off, Eve quickly takes Layla down with a fireman’s carry. As Layla makes it back to her feet, Eve connects with a nice shoulder-block followed by a baseball slide that sends Layla crashing onto the outside floor. Eve then goes to the outside and brings Layla back in the ring where the referee checks up on her. In the mean time, McCool kicks Eve in the back of the head. McCool then gets back on the apron and tags herself into the match. She locked in a figure four head lock. Eve fought out and hit a bulldog. Double hot tags had Melina squashing Layla. McCool hit Melina from behind while the ref was distracted. Layla picked her up in a backbreaker move. Melina slipped out and hit McCool. She dodged and Layla ran into McCool. Melina rolled up Layla for the win.

Post-Match: As Melina started celebrating, McCool attacked Melina from behind. The fight spilled onto the outside where Melina ultimately clotheslined McCool over the barricade.

-Commercial-

Back, Jeff Hardy came out to do commentary for the next bout.

CM Punk’s music hit and out came the World Heavyweight Champion. Punk grabbed a microphone.

“Are you proud of yourself Jeff? I could’ve been seriously injured last week. And you got a lot of nerve faking an eye injury and leaving me in the ring to fend for myself especially considering you’re the one who injured my eye in the first place. As far as what you said earlier about me making the whole thing up, coming out here with your cute eye patch mocking me, I want to show you something Jeff.”

Punk pulls out a little eye medicine.

“This is Polymyxin B Sulfate. I have to apply this to my eye 3 times a day. The only way you obtain this is with a prescription, from a doctor. Now, I know you know a thing or two about prescription medication, but what I don’t think you realize is that you got to go to a doctor to legally obtain some. Unlike you Jeff, this is the only foreign substance I’ll allow in my body. So if you want to imitate me, why don’t you try to live a clean lifestyle? Why don’t you try living a Straightedge lifestyle? Jeff, you’ve got two strikes. You know how many I have? Zero. Jeff you know how many times I’ve been suspended? Zero. You know how many times I’ve been to a rehab facility? That’s right, zero. And do you know what your chances are of beating me at Night of Champions? Zero.”

The Great Khali then came out, accompanied to the ring with Ranjin Singh.

Match 4: CM Punk v. Great Khali

Bell rings and Punk teases a few low kicks. Khali quickly grabs Punk and clotheslines the World Champion. Khali then corners Punk and slaps Punk across the chest. Khali then attempts a leg drop, but Punk moves out of the way and gives Khali a dropkick in the face. Punk then connects with a springboard clothesline, but gets a 2 count. Punk then kicks Khali a few times and connects with the knee lift. Punk then backs off and charges at the giant, but Khali catches Punk with a reverse back elbow. Khali then signals for the Punjabi Plunge and yes, Khali connects with it. At this time, pyro’s go off and Kane makes his way down to the ring with a chair. This match ends in a no contest.

Post-Match: As Kane enters the ring with his chair, Ranjin Singh grabs a chair from ringside and tosses it to Khali. Kane strikes Khali with the chair first and when he tries to do it again, Khali punches the chair out of his hands. Khali then swings his chair and smashed Kane over the back. Kane quickly leaves the ring and heads back up the ramp.

Back, Shad and JTG make their ways down to the ring. Their opponents are the Hart Dynasty.

Match 5: Cryme Time v. Hart Dynasty

Kidd and JTG start things out. After an early lockup, JTG manages to sweep the leg of Kidd before connecting with a flying leg drop. JTG then knocks Smith off the apron before sending Kidd out of the ring. Natalya causes a distraction which allows Kidd to smash JTG into the announce table. Smith is tagged in and he connects with a swinging neckbreaker for a 2 count. Smith then punched JTG in the head and connected with a standing vertical suplex. Following yet another 2 count, JTG rolled onto the apron. Smith charged at him, but JTG rolled away and tagged in Shad. Shad took Smith down with a shoulder-block before connecting with a modified facebuster. Shad then tried for a sweep, but Kidd intervened. Shad quickly took Kidd out, but from behind, Smith rolled up Shad. Unfortunately for Smith, JTG broke up the count. Natalya then got up on the apron and JTG went after her. One-half of the Unified Tag Team Champions, Chris Jericho, made his way down to the ring. Jericho grabbed a microphone and simply stated that tonight he will cement his legendary status after he won tonight.

Rey Mysterio then made his way down to the ring.

Match # 6 :Intercontinental Championship
Chris Jericho v. Rey Mysterio

After a lockup, Jericho grabbed Mysterio for a headlock. Rey shoved Jericho off, but Jericho came running back with a powerful shoulder-block. Moments later, Rey punched out of power bomb attempt, but Jericho tossed him to the floor. Rey rolled through and popped up. Jericho slid out and Rey back in. Rey hit a mule kick when Jericho tried to get in. Rey went out and rolled Jericho back in the ring and ran the ropes. He jumped up, but Jericho reversed into a back breaker. Rey fought out and charged at Jericho. Jericho tossed him, but Rey landed on the apron. Jericho whipped him on the apron, sending him into the post on to the floor. The announcers wondered if Mysterio could somehow win this match.

Back, Jericho was in firm control as he connected with a baseball slide onto Mysterio. Jericho then applied a chin lock until Mysterio was able to strike his way out of the hold with an enzigiri. He leapt at Jericho, but he reversed into a spinning torture rack for two. Jericho slapped Rey’s head and choked him on the ropes. He hit a snapmare and went back to the chin lock. Rey fought out an hit a springboard cross body for two. He hit a wheelbarrow into a bulldog for two. The crowd chanted 619. Rey tried to reverse a whip into a hurricanranna, but Jericho sat down and locked in Walls of Jericho. Rey powered up and rolled over into a Sunset flip. Jericho sat down for two. Rey reversed for two. Jericho reversed again for two. Rey hit a hurricanranna to setup 619. Jericho slipped away and Rey took a nasty looking spill to the floor after getting tangled in the ropes on the missed 619. The two then slowly struggled to make it back to their feet as we headed for the final break of the evening.

Moments after returning, Jericho caught Mysterio in the corner with a clothesline. Jericho hit several punches and then chocked Rey with his foot. Rey tried to fight back, but Jericho lifted him for a unique spinning neckbreaker move thingy. You had to see it. Jericho locked in a modified crucifix to rest. Rey escaped and hit a rollup for two. He went for a springboard moonsault and Jericho grabbed him. He tied Mysterio in the Tree of Woe and went for a spear. Mysterio sat up and Jericho hit the post. Rey worked quick offense. He hit a mule kick and a springboard splash for two. He tried for a hurricanranna, but Jericho flipped him forward on his face for two. Both men sold being exhausted. Jericho hit a bulldog. Jericho went for the Lionsault, but Rey moved. Jericho landed on his feet and reversed another hurricanranna into the Walls of Jericho Rey made the ropes and stood on the apron. Jericho tried a baseball slide but Rey jumped over him. He hit a springboard moonsault on the floor. Rey rolled Jericho into the ring and came off the top. Jericho reversed into a Codebreaker. 1…2…NO!. Mysterio kicked out! Slowly, Jericho lifted Mysterio caught Jericho with a drop toe hold followed by a drop kick. With Jericho on the ropes, Mysterio hit the 619 and connected with a springboard splash to retain his gold!

Post-Match: As Mysterio started to celebrate, Edge came into the ring and tried to Spear Rey, but Mysterio dodged it and fleed onto the outside. From the back, out came Dolph Ziggler, who clubbed Mysterio in the back of the head before tossing Mysterio back into the ring. Edge then connected with the Spear and lifted Mysterio up for Jericho to connect with the Codebreaker. Ziggler then entered the ring and connected with his signature reverse STO to a chord of boos from the live crowd.

We begin with the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk coming to the ring. The fans are not too happy with Punk being the champion. Punk says that everyone is talking about the big controversy coming out of The Bash and he says that he is sick and tired of it. Punk says that people are saying that he intentionally struck an official to retain his title. Punk says that he wants to show everyone what happened, step by step.
We go to highlights from Sunday. We see Punk falling victim to the Swanton but Punk had his leg under the rope. Punk says that the referee is human and he saw his mistake. Punk says the rules still mean something to him. Punk says that he was the one who was almost robbed because if the referee did not see it, he would have lost his title. Punk then shows us the eye injury that Punk suffered during the match. Punk says that it was as clear as day that he could not see and his vision was obstructed. He thought he was swinging at the referee and he accidentally hit the referee. Punk says that he is a man of honor and he does not take shortcuts in or out of the ring. Punk says that Hardy thought he was going to become the new champion, but nothing excuses Hardy’s behavior after the match. We see footage of Hardy attacking Punk.

Punk tells Hardy that he has no idea what type of person Punk is. He says that he has integrity and he will never take a short cut. What Punk did was an accident while what Hardy did was deliberate. Now Jeff is trying to get a rematch. Punk says that he wants an apology from Hardy.

Instead of an apology, Punk gets the fifty-third next best thing as Teddy Long comes to the ring. Teddy tells Punk that he wants to get to the point and he does not know if Punk took the cheap way out. Long says that it was a classic match so he is not going to let it end that way. Punk will face Hardy at Night of Champions in a rematch. Punk likes that, but he wants Hardy to apologize to him. Teddy says that Vince McMahon liked the way he shook things up. Long says that Vince wants controversy so the Unified Tag Champions will face Jeff Hardy and CM Punk.

Jeff Hardy finally decides to come out and the face paint is back on. Hardy gets in Punk’s face and he tells Punk that he does not want to hear his excuses any more. He says that Punk knew what he was doing when he kicked the referee. Hardy tells Punk that he can see right through him. Punk tells Hardy that he can shut up unless he is going to apologize. Hardy says that he will apologize for beating the holy hell out of him at Night of Champions. Hardy pushes Punk and Punk pushes back until Long separates them. Punk tells Hardy that they better be on the same page during their tag match tonight. Punk says that they are already at a disadvantage because of his eye. Punk reminds Hardy that he had to forfeit his match on Superstars, but he will not forfeit tonight. Punk tells Hardy that he knows that Jeff wants to punch him, but he tells Jeff to ‘just say no’.
Punk leaves the ring and we go to commercial.

We are back and Ricky Ortiz is in the ring and he has his towel with him.

Match #1: Ricky Ortiz vs Finlay

Before the match starts Ortiz asks Finlay if he is upset that he lost his little buddy. He tells Finlay to let go of the negative energy since he is on Smackdown. He tells Finlay to ‘rally up’ and he gives Finlay his towel. Finlay looks at the towel and he slaps Ortiz and then he throws the towel to the floor.
Finlay with a kick but Ortiz with a kick. Finlay with a head butt to the midsection and a clothesline that sends Ortiz over the top rope to the floor. Finlay goes to the apron and he kicks Ortiz but Ortiz trips Finlay on the apron. Ortiz with a power slam on the floor. Ortiz rolls Finlay back into the ring and he kicks Finlay. Ortiz with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Ortiz tries for the big splash but Finlay gets his knees up. Ortiz misses a charge into the corner and then Finlay with a rollup for a near fall. Finlay with a clothesline or three for Ortiz and then he gets Ortiz up for a fireman’s carry slam and then he hits a seated splash for a near fall. Finlay with a running shoulder into the corner. Ortiz with a forearm to the back and Ortiz tries for a gutwrench but Finlay stops him and Finlay hits the Celtic Cross for the three count.

Dolph Ziggler is stretching in the back and he sees Maria walk by and she introduces herself to Dolph. She asks if he is getting ready for his match. Maria says that she has a match tonight and then she tells Dolph that she had fun last night. Dolph says that he had fun too and asks Maria to go out again. Maria wishes Dolph luck tonight and Dolph says that he might get lucky tonight.

Match #2: Dolph Ziggler versus R Truth

Ziggler with a knee and punch and he asks what is up. Truth with a split to avoid Ziggler and then he hits a spinning kick. Truth with a hip toss for a near fall. Ziggler backs into the corner and the referee stops him. Ziggler with a flying forearm and then he hits a reverse Exploder suplex for a near fall. Ziggler with cross faces to Truth and then he applies a rear chin lock. Truth with elbows but Ziggler sends Truth back to the mat and he punches Truth while the referee admonishes him. Ziggler with a series of rapid fire elbow drops and then he takes his time for a final leaping elbow drop and he gets a near fall. Ziggler with a full nelson on Truth but Truth escapes and he punches Ziggler and kicks him. Truth with a back elbow and a clothesline. Ziggler with a kick to Truth but Truth with a power slam for a near fall. Truth with a bicycle kick and Ziggler is near the ropes and he holds on. Ziggler drops Truth on the top rope and Ziggler hits the leaping side Russian leg sweep for the three count.

We are back with Word Up with Cryme Tyme. This week’s word is presented by Eve and it is ‘wanksta’. We see Layla talking to someone and we see a rear view. Then we see Jimmy Wang Yang and he is eating and not doing a good job of cleaning up. We see an example and we see Jesse.


Match #3: Rey Mysterio versus Kane

Rey with kicks and punches as he tries to avoid the bigger opponent. It lasts for a short period of time until Kane hits a clothesline. Kane with a kick to Rey’s back. Kane with punches in the corner. Kane with a short arm clothesline for a near fall. Kane with a reverse chin lock and Rey with kicks to escape. Kane with punches and kicks in the corner. Kane catches Rey when he tries a float over. Rey with a drop kick to the knee and Kane falls into the ropes. Kane grabs Rey on the 619 attempt before Rey hits the ropes. Kane throws Rey into the turnbuckles and we go to commercial.

We are back and Kane with a big boot to Rey for a near fall. Kane with a hard Irish whip to Rey and Rey goes to the floor. Kane goes to the floor and he runs Rey’s back into the ring post. Kane returns to the ring while Rey is down on the floor. Rey returns to the ring before the ten count and then he punches Rey in the back. Kane with kicks to Rey’s back. Kane slams Rey emphatically to the mat. Rey kicks Kane out of the corner and then he kicks and punches Kane but Kane with a back elbow for a near fall. Kane with a belly-to-back suplex for another near fall. Kane with a back breaker as he continues to focus on the back. Rey escapes the hold and he sends Kane into the turnbuckles with a drop toe hold. Rey with a springboard seated splash and then Rey hits an inverted DDT for a near fall. Rey with a drop kick to Kane and he gets another near fall. Rey goes up top but Kane finds a way to connect with an uppercut when Rey comes off the turnbuckles and Kane gets a near fall. Kane signals for the choke slam. Rey with an enzuigiri and Kane staggers so Rey needs to hit a drop kick to the back to get Kane into the position. Rey hits the 619 but Kane catches Rey on the springboard splash and hits a choke slam for the three count.

After the match, Kane grabs Rey by the throat and he has some words for the champion. Great Khali’s music plays and he has a chair. Kane lets Rey go and Kane tries to plead his case to Khali and Kane goes into the crowd to escape Khali.
Chris Jericho is in the interview area with Josh Mathews. Chris says that it brings a smile to his face to see the ultimate hypocrite get what he deserves. Jericho says that he will win the title back next week to be a ten time champion. Edge says that tonight is not about Rey Mysterio, it is about showing that they are the dominant forces in WWE. Edge reminds Jericho who they beat on Sunday and they will be facing a fractured team tonight. Jericho says they are the best at what they do and he calls Punk a liar when it comes to his eye. They will beat the man with the injured eye and the man with the silly face paint to prove that they are the best.

Match Number Four: David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd with Natalya versus Cryme Tyme
Kidd and JTG start things off and Kidd with a waist lock but JTG with a take down and front face lock. Kidd with shoulders in the corner. JTG with an Irish whip and then he drives Kidd’s face into the mat and Kidd goes to the floor. Smith tags in and JTG does not realize it and Smith hits him from behind. Smith kicks JTG in the corner and he punches JTG. Smith with an overhead belly-to-belly throw for a near fall. Smith with a reverse chin lock. JTG with elbows but Smith runs him into the corner and Kidd is tagged back in. They send JTG into the turnbuckles as they continue to work on the back. Kidd with a snap mare and kick to the back for a near fall. Kidd stretches JTG as he works on the back. Kidd with a knee to the back but he misses a charge into the corner and JTG with a rollup for a near fall. Kidd with kicks to the back and a snap mare as he returns to JTG’s back. Kidd with a knee but JTG with a sliding punch. JTG with a flying clothesline to take Kidd down. Shad and Smith tag in and Shad knocks Kidd off the apron and then he clotheslines Smith. Shad with an Irish whip and a flying elbow into the corner. Shad with a face first slam to Smith and then he hits the Money Money elbow for a near fall. JTG drops Smith into the rope and Shad hits an STO for the three count after the referee misses what happened due to his focus on Kidd.

Match #5: Michelle McCool and Layla versus Maria and Melina
Layla attacks Melina while Melina wants Michelle to start. Melina with a kick to Layla and she sends Layla into the turnbuckles. Melina with a front face lock and Maria tags in. Maria with knees to Layla followed by a snap mare and clothesline for a near fall. Maria with forearms but Layla blocks a kick and forces Maria into a split and then Michelle is tagged in and she works on the knee. Michelle continues to work on the knee and Layla is tagged in. Layla works on the knee before tagging back in. Michelle turns her focus to the ankle but Maria twists out of the hold. Maria with a kick and then Melina is tagged in. Michelle with a kick and Layla is tagged in. Melina with the matrix and she kicks Layla from the position. Melina knocks Michelle off the apron and then hits the Banshee Step Over Leg Lariat for the three count.

John Morrison is in Teddy Long’s office and Teddy is dancing around while John Morrison suggests that he face the winner of the CM Punk/Jeff Hardy match after Night of Champions. John and Teddy do a Michael Jackson medley.

Match Number Six: Edge and Chris Jericho versus CM Punk and Jeff Hardy

Edge and Punk start things off and they lock up but Edge works on Punk’s arm and applies an arm bar. Punk escapes and hits a drop kick. Hardy tags in and he connects with a forearm from the turnbuckles. Hardy with a punch and kick in the corner followed by a hard Irish whip but Edge has his foot on the ropes. Hardy sends Edge into the turnbuckles and then he tags Punk back in. Punk with a double sledge to the arm and he kicks Edge in the chest. Punk with an arm bar but Edge with a forearm and Jericho tags in but Punk with an arm drag into an arm bar. Punk with a slam to Jericho and Jericho favors his knee. Hardy tags in and hits the screaming leg drop from the second turnbuckle for a near fall. Jericho punches Hardy and kicks him in the head. Jericho with a kick but Hardy with a reverse atomic drop and leg drop. Punk tags in and he stays with the arm and snap mares Jericho to get a near fall. Punk with an arm bar. Edge is tagged in and he punches Punk in the head. Edge with a head butt as he starts to focus on the eye. Punk with a leg lariat and Hardy is tagged in. Hardy hits Poetry in Motion and Jericho takes some of the impact as well. Punk clotheslines Edge over the top rope to the floor as we see Punk and Hardy stare each other down as we go to commercial.
We are back and Edge punches Hardy but Hardy with an arm drag and arm bar. Punk is checking on his eye and he refuses to tag in. Hardy gets a near fall. Hardy with a suplex and a cover for a near fall. Hardy punches Edge and tries for a splash after an Irish whip but Edge moves. Jericho tags in and he hits a series of elbow drops followed by punches. Jericho draws Punk in to allow Edge to work over Hardy on the floor. Jericho goes to bring Hardy back into the ring but he sends him into the apron first. Hardy tries to make the tag but Punk is not looking because of his eye. Jericho with a chin lock with the arm isolated as he tries to wear down Hardy. Hardy with punches and he gets sent to the floor by Jericho when he tries to float over and Jericho catches him. Jericho goes to the floor and Hardy returns to the ring and he tries to make the tag but Punk is not in position. Hardy hits Whisper in the Wind and both men are down.

Edge tags in and he keeps Jeff from making the tag. Hardy with a Twist of Fate and an emphatic tag. Punk with a knee in the corner and a bulldog for a near fall. Punk gets Edge up for the Go To Sleep but Edge with an Edge-O-Matic to Punk for a near fall. Edge with a knee to the head. Edge works over Punk and then he talks to the referee to allow Jericho to work on Punk. Jericho tags in and he kicks Punk in the ribs. Punk with forearms to Jericho but both men hit clotheslines and they are both down. Punk tries to make his way to tag in Hardy but Hardy gets a sudden eye injury and he cannot make the tag. Hardy cannot see and Jericho gets a near fall with a rollup. Jericho tries for the Walls of Jericho while Hardy is struggling to see again. Punk sends Jericho into the turnbuckles and Edge makes the blind tag while Punk sets for the Go To Sleep. Punk hits the Go To Sleep on Jericho but Edge with a spear for the three count.

Winners: Edge and Chris Jericho

After the match, Hardy hits a Twist of Fate on Edge and then the tag champions go to the back. Hardy staggers around the ring holding his eye. He stands over Punk and Punk doesn’t appreciate the joke.

Match # 1 : R-Truth vs. Shelton Benjamin

R-Truth endured a vicious verbal assault from his opponent, Shelton Benjamin. The mean-spirited lashing fueled a quick and aggressive offense from Truth during their match. Benjamin eventually turned the tables, putting Truth on the defensive. But in the end, Truth prevailed when he dropped The Gold Standard with a Lie Detector.

Match # 2 : Michelle McCool & Alicia Fox vs Melina & Gail Kim

Michelle McCool & Alicia keeps Gail out of the ring and keep on beating the women's champion. Atlast Gail tangs in but she didint see the tag made by Alisha to McCool. McCool hits the faithbreaker and gets the pin.

They shake hands in the start of the match. Very good match indeed and JoMo gets the pin after the series of counters and roll ups. After the match, they shook hands again but Punk jumped him and used the Go to sleep.Never seen this kind of stuff befor from CM Punk. CM Punk's face impression shows that he regrets what has he done

Match # 4 : Edge & Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho vs Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio In rang in the cage match. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as special guest referee


With World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk as guest referee, Edge & Chris Jericho went to war with Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio in a "Rage in the Cage" Match. In the end, it was Edge & Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho who prevailed when The Rated-R Superstar avoided a Twist of Fate from Hardy and stunned the high-flyer with a hard-hitting spear.

After the match was over, CM Punk, perhaps being sarcastic, offered up his praises for Hardy, saying he fought a good fight despite losing the match.

We see punk standing with his title above his hand and smiling and we go to credits.

Match # 1 : R-Truth & John Morrison VS Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas

Four young and hungry Superstars put on a fantastic display of athleticism, but it was John Morrison who reigned supreme. The Friday Night Delight put away Charlie Haas with a Moonlight Drive followed up by the Starship Pain for the win. Very good match. Worth watching.

Michelle McCool pins the champion by champion by stunning her with a Faithbreaker.

Match # 3 Dolph Ziggler VS The Great Khali

Ziggler is afraid of Khali in the entire match. he ran down to the ramp and grab Khali's interpreter Ranjin Singh. Khali came to make save, ref. is counting at the count of nine Ziggler jump back in the ring but Khali can't. So Ziggler wins by count-out.

Match # 4: World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk VS Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho (Non-title)

Chis Jericho went to Teddy Long for the chance on the world heavy weight championship. Instead of this Teddy booked him in the match with World Champ. CM Punk.

Both were looking good in the match. Jericho delivers a code-breaker but Punk some how found the bottom rope and place his foot on rope to stop the count . Despite Jericho’s bold prediction, his guarantee for win did not come true, as Punk dropped him with a Go to Sleep(GTS). The win was Punk’s first as new champion.

Match # 5 Edge VS Jeff Hardy.(Number ! contender's match)

Punk came to watch the match and joined Todd and JR on announce table.

In a back-and-forth struggle, Hardy and Edge pushed themselves to the limits of endurance. As the action spilled to the arena floor, Edge tossed Hardy onto CM Punk, who was seated at the announce table. Mayhem then ensued, when Punk pursued Edge back in to the ring and assaulted him with a series of punches.

After the match Jeff realize that he lost the match because of CM Punk. He came to the ring and start beating WHC Punk. delivers a twist of fate on Edge but CM Punk delivers GTS on Jeff and stood holding his belt above the lifeless bodies of Edge and Jeff.

GM Theodore Long made the blockbuster announcement from his office that it will be Edge vs. Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk in a Triple Threat Match on Raw for the World Heavyweight Championship.
