Update on Rick Flair and ROH.

Posted by Taimur Asghar On 1:20 PM 0 comments

Though Ric Flair was present at Saturday's Ring of Honor event long enough to deliver an in-ring promo, he did not appear in his scheduled role as an outside enforcer for the ROH Championship main-event.

PWInsider.com reports that Flair departed the event shortly after his promo, which took place during the early part of the card. According to the report, Flair's storming out came as a surprise to Ring of Honor officials, who had, earlier in the day, believed Flair had no issues with what was planned for his appearance.

It seems Flair did, however, have issues with his booking. While going over spots for the main-event backstage, sources say Flair responded that he was only present to meet with fans and deliver his in-ring promo. En route to a WWE return, Flair also expressed a problem with the fact that HDNet was shooting footage at the event--Flair did not want to appear on ROH television.

Ring of Honor officials attempted to retrieve Flair as he made his exit, but they were too late to catch up to "The Nature Boy," who departed the venue in a rental car.

Tommy Dreamer blogs on ECW Title victory

Posted by Taimur Asghar On 1:11 PM 0 comments
New ECW champion Tommy Dreamer thanked WWE executives Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon, and John Laurinaitis and many WWE wrestlers and personnel for contributing to his ECW Title victory at the Extreme Rules PPV last Sunday in his Blog.

Dreamer also acknowledged Mick Foley and Team 3D as champions in TNA, although he didn't name TNA by name.

"To Mick Foley: You proved that someone with and a$$ bigger than mine can be World Champ. Seriously you did a lot for me and I will never forget it," Dreamer said. "Speaking of giant a$$es to the Dudley Boys. Your friendship and constant stealing of the shows is still enjoyable to watch. Wow I just though about Mick, Dudleys, and I are all champions at once."

Dreamer thanked Jim Ross, Shane McMahon, and "Johnny Ace" Laurinaitis for their support during his WWE career.

He said about Vince McMahon: "Thanks for all the years of entertainment. I am the biggest fan of your hard work for thirty years and thanks for making my dream a reality."

Dreamer also thanked plenty of other wrestlers, including Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk, and Jack Swagger for contributing to his title win.

"To Jack Swagger for being a great heel. Your constant jabs at me and wanting everyone to know how good you are have made you my perfect opponent. People love watching me pin you."

Randy Orton Discuses his Career

Posted by Taimur Asghar On 1:06 PM 0 comments
Randy Orton was interviewed by The Charlotte Observer today to promote Raw's Three-For-All event, discussing his career at this link He noted that the business came quick to him and financially the business has been good to him. He noted he doesn't want to be in a position where he still needs to perform later in life and wants to be able to enjoy his children (he has a one year old daughter now with plans for more later). When asked about the idea of following Dwayne Johnson into movies, Orton commented, "I think that I'd thrive if I could be a bad guy or I'd love to play a superhero. It would be cool to have powers.”

WWE star Randy Orton says he doesn't want to be like Ric Flair where he has to continue wrestling past his mid-40s to provide for his family.

Ric Flair could be coming out of retirement soon to wrestle overseas to help pay monthly alimony payments to his ex-wives. Orton says he doesn't want to be in that position.

"I don't want to put myself in a position where financially I need to perform when I'm 60 or 50 or even in my mid-40s," Orton told the Charlotte Observer to promote Monday's live Raw in Charlotte. "There will be a time when I'm a dad of two or three and I just want to be at home with my family."
He says:
"He was one of my mentors when I started," Orton said. "If it wasn't for him and Triple H and my father (Cowboy Bob Orton), I wouldn't be where I am now."
